These programs are generally for individuals with moderate to severe mental, physical or emotional disabilities.

Services: Innisfree Village offers an informal Day Program to adults who would like to participate in the cooperative, therapeutic day programming with our residents. An individualized program is set up for each participant.

Work Activities involve occur in morning and afternoon in:


Free School is an afternoon program option with different daily activities each week:

Lunch is prepared and provided daily on site.

Area Served: Planning District 10

Eligibility: Adults age 18 and over with a variety of mental disabilities who want to participate in the various aspects of the day program of our residential community. Must be ambulatory and able to handle personal care.

Exclusions: Individuals whose behavior is challenging and would prevent them from participating in a positive member with the other coworkers.

Intake: Self-referral or school or agency referral. Contact the Village Director to arrange a day visit to Innisfree. There is no formal application process. There will be a two-week trial period to see if the day program meets the individual’s needs.

Fees: Full- Day Fee (Only) is $40/day. Private Pay only is accepted.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) is a set of service interventions designed to work holistically to improve an individual’s functioning, the management of his/her illness and to facilitate recovery. PSR is offered concurrently with necessary clinical treatments to support the fullest integration of the individual as an active and productive member of his/her family and community.

Program Services address:

NOTE: Region Ten has Clubhouse programs in Louisa and Nelson counties. Greene County (Standardsville) and Albemarle County (Crozet) Clubhouses will be opening in the future.

Applicants needing intensive skill development and supports to manage symptoms and/or improve functioning in order to avert these risks.

Exclusions: Individuals who are unwilling to participate in the program. Individuals who have a current, active substance abuse dependency. Individuals who do not meet specific program criteria to be served.

Intake: Referral through Mental Health Case Management. Region Ten has a central point of entry for all services.Please call Access at 972-1800 to schedule an appointment with an Intake Clinician if you live in Charlottesville or Albemarle. If you live in Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson, or Louisa County, you should contact the county clinic nearest you to set up an Intake Appointment.

Services: The goal of the Adult Activity Centers’ programming is to assist adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities to be more independent, learn new things, visit new places and make more friends. The AAC is a day support program for adults who are not eligible for other day support programs because of their need for intensive supports. The ratio of staff to client support is 1:4. The Center provides individualized training in daily living skills, prevocational skills, social skills and communication skills.

Exclusions: Adults who present with aggressive or dangerous behavior to themselves or to others cannot be served. Adults with disruptive or self-abusive behaviors must be responsive to positive intervention, including environmental modifications.Intake: Referrals are accepted from families, Region Ten, and other community agencies. Contact the Program Director to get an application packet. Applicants are encouraged to visit the program site to learn about the program. Once the application packet is completed, a series of trial visits will ensure. The Program Director will then submit the application and supporting information to the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) for review. The QAC will determine if the applicant meets the eligibility requirments to be served by the program.

Fees: Regular Support is $24.07/unit and High Intensity Support is $34.27/unit.

Units equal amounts of time:

1 unit – 3.75 hours

2 units – 4-6.75 hours

3 units – 7+hours

Services of the Clubhouse include:

Specific job training is not a component of the Clubhouse model; but rather work related behaviors is a goal. Members voluntarily work in the daily operation of the clubhouse through work units

Area Served: Planning District 10 and other counties if transportation is available including Rockingham, Augusta, and Buckingham

Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older with a documented history of an acquired brain injury who want to participate. Persons must be independent in mobility and toileting. If not. Must bring personal care attendant to assist. Exclusions: Person must not have a history of violence (verbal or physical) in last six months.Intake: Self-referral and referrals from family, therapists and case managers. Call to arrange an orientation visit, which lasts 2-3 hours. A start date and schedule are arranged with the clubhouse manager. The member selects the work unit and the staff member completes the remaining intake forms for participation.

Fees: Member Contribution Fees are Half-Day Fee - $1.50, Full-Day - $3.00

Eligibility: Adults age 18 and older who have a diagnosis of mental retardation or other developmental disability. Note: Adults who receive MR Medicaid Waiver services and participate in the production program may also participate in Day Support activities. Individuals need not be ambulatory, but they must be able to care for personal needs. Must be able to function in a staff to client ratio of 1:11.

Exclusions: Individuals who need a greater level of support due to behavior challenges. Intake: Self-referral and agency referral are accepted. Mental Retardation (MR) Waiver Referrals need to contact a Region Ten Case Manager. Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver Referrals need to contact a DD Services Coordinator. Individuals, who wish to private pay, may contact Diana Wilson for information and to set up an intake interview.
