Services: Charlottesville City Schools, in collaboration with community service agencies, local businesses, Piedmont Virginia Community College, and the Charlottesville - Albemarle Technical Education Center, has developed a comprehensive career development program designed to prepare students to transition from school to postsecondary education and employment.
Services Offered:- Career assessments (interest, skills, work values and personality/preference)
- Career counseling
- Individual and group career development guidance
- Coordination of Career Awareness and Exploration Activities
- Work-based learning experiences
- Job placement
- Work-adjustment training for students with disabilities
- Transition planning & services for students with disabilities
Office Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Mon. - Fri.
Area Served: City of Charlottesville and surrounding counties on a space available basis
Eligibility: High school student residing within the limits of CHS with an identified disability.orOut-of-district high school student paying tuition to attend with an identified disability.
Intake: Enroll at CHS with a current IEPorRequest assessment and identification of a disability.
Fees: None for City residents. Tuition Fee of $1,000/year for out-of-district students.
